B. Braun Indonesia Takes Joint Steps to Plant 9,000 Mangrove Trees
20 February 2023 – Together with the Indotaisei Industrial Zone CSR Forum, B. Braun Indonesia participated in the movement to plant 9000 mangrove trees, on Saturday 11 February 2023, in Muarabaru Village, Cilamaya Wetan, Karawang Regency.
This movement is a joint effort to protect the Karawang Coastal area from the threat of abrasion and supports the efforts of the Regional Government to preserve the environment. The Indotaisei Industrial Area CSR Forum has the aim of protecting the sustainability of the environment and the people around the industrial area. Focusing on the four main pillars, namely Education, Health, Economy, and Environment, it is hoped that each implemented program can provide added value in improving the standard of living of the community and the benefit of all stakeholders involved in it.
The program for planting 9,000 mangrove trees was attended by representatives from 31 companies that are members of the CSR forum, as well as collaborating with an environmentally concerned community, Cipta Pesona Desa.Also invited was the Head of the Karawang Regional Development Planning Agency ("Bappeda"), Didin Rachmandy, S. Sos., MM and his staff, as well as officials from Muarabaru Village and the surrounding community. After the tree planting takes place, the Cipta Pesona Desa Community will continuously monitor and report on its growth and sustainability.
"It needs collaboration from all parties or pentahelix, namely government, academics, agencies, business actors, society or communities, and the media to save the environment and spread awareness so that it has a wider impact" said Didin, Head of Bappedda Karawang.
"We appreciate the positive synergy of all Indotaisei Tenants in participating in maintaining environmental sustainability, I hope the trees that have been planted can have a good impact on the surrounding community," said Syaipul, representative of the Indotaisei CSR forum.
